The Angus is the only breed to have been selected for meat quality for over 400 years. CSAAB (Certified South African Angus Beef) is produced according to protocol and audited by SAMIC. CSAAB can be purchased and most Pick n Pay supermarkets as well as select quality restaurants.
Mequatling Angus wholeheartedly supports the Angus Beef programme. We are one of the largest suppliers of calves to the program. Mequatling accepts the challenge to "Breed Better Beef" and to improve carcass quality. This includes regular use of ultrasound scanning for marbling and beef yield. Mequatling is the only herd to have completed phase-E sire-progeny tenderness testing on Angus cattle in South Africa.
